Page 2 of the continued adventures of a Vegan Kitten called Midnight ex rescue. NOT DEAD as so many ignorant ranters predict in chants about cats dying on vegan diets.
VEGAN KITTEN MIDNIGHT. The adventures of. age 4 months...2 months vegan and NOT DEAD NOT SICK lol...eeek ? why not ? surely...an "obligate carnivore" kitten would be DEAD by now fed vegan ? not growing and running around energetically ! ? what is WRONG ? or RIGHT ? about her NUTRITION ? with NO ANIMAL CONTENT !
All those idiots ranting..."animal abuser" "call the protection of animals society out to take the kitten away" (not calling those people out to stop the chickens in the slaughter house rescued of course) etc etc. "cats will DIE on a vegan diet" rants...
How come not dead already ? surely if she were not getting the nutrients needed to GROW and put on weight and run around energetically...such a small young "obligate carnivore" (no disputing that taxonomy classification of cats...but the word "obligate" does not mean they cannot THRIVE on NUTRIENTS in food other than eating flesh ! what is it in FLESH that an "obligate carnivore" needs to thrive ? NUTRIENTS ! like protein...vitamins...minerals etc ! so ? if an animal gets those in food eaten ...NO PROBLEM !)
Right...then come the rants...SHE WILL DIE SOON or a few years later etc...well I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU ! there are cats age 18 YEARS OLD that have been fed vegan still thriving out there ! so ? obviously the argument, rant of CATS WILL DIE if fed vegan...are erroneous. Too big a word that ? "erroneous" ? like big words we LOVE to latch onto like "obligate carnivore" it really needs us to be less ROBOTIC MORONS repeating "big words" without thinking a few more seconds...to think of another big word "NUTRIENTS" https://www.good.is/features/vegan-cats one such example.
I also want to share...the truth of discovery on a RAW FLESH FEEDING OBSESSED CAT GROUP on Facebook called erroneously "nutrition" for felines...i was reading the posts...and soon came...a post RAVING about a TAURINE SUPPLEMENT. People commented in joy about how they used this to ADD to this supposed to be "complete natural flesh" based food...so ? i went to look at the details of this supplement...IT WAS VEGAN ! lol ! rather put the cat amoungst the pigeons that revelation did. People just had not looked at the details of what they were feeding their "obligate carnivore" cats lol. Now it is the NORM that Taurine...an element found in flesh is NOT provided from flesh in even non vegan catfoods out there ! it is simply synthetically made as too expensive and time consuming to obtain from flesh for the huge quantity of catfood needed to feed 100 million pet cats in the USA alone.
Get real folks ! we ARE feeding VEGAN nutrients to our "pets" the "obligate carnivores...in their petfood...supplements etc.
Right. Now I admit...i have fed my kitten for 2 months not a kitten specific food but an adult cat food. Adding some supplements but now about to MAKE A KITTEN RECIPY with the kitten supplements of Compassion Circle Vegepets of the USA that ship those supplements worldwide...and are sold by distributors in the UK and elsehwere by such as veggiepets uk etc. Also on ebay and amazon.
Kitten has put on weight. She is now 1.5kg. Was 0.9 kg when she came to me from the rescue. She is now 4 nearly 5 months old. Her mother was a very small street cat. This kitten will probably also be a small cat.
She lives indoors. Has the run of the house. Is comfortable wtih the 2 large dogs...has her own eating dishes out of reach of the dogs...goes to drink from a filtered fountain that the dogs also drink from...is very very human friendly and loves to be ON me whenever possible. Sleeps right next to me...is the first to follow me to bed upstairs and sleep right next to me on me even. She is m ore my "shadow" than my clingy dogs lol ! She will live indoors permanently with supervised outside forays. Why ? i like others live near a main road. Too close for comfort...and the traffic today is many times more in quantity and speed than a few decades ago when cats dogs could roam without many car accidents. I had a cat that was splatted by a car when a student in Birmingham. So regrettable that our "pets" live unnatural "prisoner" lives except for the freedoms we allow them sometimes...mostly on the ends of collars and leads if dogs....she has to have freedom restricted. She would also kill many birds ...cats are an invasive species that humans brought into existance for our entertainment and use as companions. They are not part of a natural ecosystem. We have "pets" for OUR needs of entertainment companionship etc. We like to believe they are "happy" but hey...they like slaves just get used to the life they have forced on them and try to enjoy life as best they can. It is not a "natural" life in any way for them. They are NOT "part of our family a family member"...we like to say such things to make the situation seem praiseworthy of us. WE are the ones with a psychological NEED for a substitute "easy" to keep surrogate child in many cases. Talking of our "pets" like our "children" reduces them to such a status and use to US. An adult animal ! a CHILD ? we really do regard other animals as INFERIOR to us and do not even do them the respect of considering them as they really are...ADULT ANIMAL PRISONERS OF OURS that WE choose to treat as HUMAN CHILDREN to suit OUR needs of that surrogate need...that an animal unable to argue back to us has to learn to accept and live with.
Our "pets" have NO INTEREST in the majority of our activities...they do not enjoy the intellectual pleasures WE get from watching TV..reading books magazine...going to the shops...visiting places of interest to us. How often...do dog owners have to call their dogs away from sniffing...wanting to go rummage somewhere when we are busy walking or doing other things ? loads of times. We CONSTANTLY force our wishes on our "pets". They learn to "comply" simply. Our "pets" live in a shadow world of compromises constraints on their natural wishes...EVERY SINGLE DAY of their "prisoner" status lives. What we FEED them is the LEAST of the decisions we make for them in terms of their lifestyles....eating...is something all animals enjoy no matter what it is they eat...but ALL THE REST ? freedom of MOVEMENT...FREEDOM generally ? THOSE are the REAL forced constraints we IMPOSE on "pets" the poor animals...learn to get what pleasure and activity they ARE allowed by us with affection shown to them that they learn to reciprocate...walking on chains everywhere at OUR pace of walking...all that jazz. They COMPLY because constant attempts to ESCAPE are learned as futile. WE control them totally for everything in their lives. So sensibly they learn to comply with our wishes and live a slave "prisoner" type existence with us. People used to say SERVANTS were "like members of their families" to make themselves feel good. The relationships...were however based on total inequality...and constraints placed by those with the POWER to impose them.
Just looking at a dog...with a collar on a lead...seems "natural" to us...the subserviance of an animal to our needs and wishes. There is nothing natural about it at all.
good talk about this by a bas le ciel...https://youtu.be/DOawDbvCPjw we have made animals we call pets...pathetic playthings of humans needs and desires. All our dogs...were created breeds by humans that in some cases had some other "utilitarian" purpose other than being "companion pets" uses for hunting or herding protecting sheep etc that WE then killed for OUR uses of course. We put silly hats on them t make them look "human" finding this "funny" but the animal ? the dog or cat ? what do THEY think of those silly hats and glasses etc ? absolutely just TOLERATED. they get NO ENJOYMENT of that hat we put on them that amuses us so much. It is total silliness and abuse of animals...disrespecting what they REALLY are and want out of life. They would naturally want to shake OFF such objects put on their heads lol ! but we tell them...to STAY STILL to take the daft photos we do of them looking RIDICULOUS in reality and totally made to look like "playthings" of us humans that they in fact are really.
just look at this RIDICULE of an animal for OUR wish to laugh and think this "plaything" of ours should be made to look like this...it is disrespect...and showing what we REALLY think of animals...our playthings. This is not "natural"...this poor cat is NOT a member of our family...it is abused as a toy a prisoner of humans. Made to look ridiculous and wear something on its head that it does NOT like and would take off if we allowed it. How can we then talk about feeding this animal nutrition that it has no idea where it comes from sees it just as FOOD that it eats...abuse ? or unatural ? THIS picture is a million times more ABUSIVE of an animal than just giving it some FOOD it does not care what it is to eat. We have not RIDICULED a cat by putting food it needs to live on in front of it...we HAVE ridiculed a cat by doing this to it...
We "use" pets for OUR emotional entertainment etc needs. They should never have come into existance...in a "natural" world no animal would be a SERVANT of another animal in the way we have made PETS into. Their lives...are totally UNNATURAL and under constraints every single day of their existence.
My dogs...have NO understanding of me driving a car, watching tv or reading a book etc. They cannot understand why being in the way of the window means I cannot see to drive...all they know is the ORDERS i give to move away and go where i want them to be. Every single day...they put up with CONSTRAINTS I force on them like that. It is a totally unnatural existence in a world they do not really belong in.
She is outside under supervision daily. Does not like the wet or cold...shakes her paws on wet grass. rushes around going indoors often. She loves to sit basking in the sun when out on a raised surface like a tree stump. She likes to perch up high generally...although sleeps on the couch right next to the dogs as standard also. The dogs are not very "careful" not to step on her...or lie on her...so occasional shrieks and yowls when this happens waking the kitten up. The dogs are rather "clumsy" and need to be told to lift their heavalump paw off the kitten yowling underneath it sometimes lol.
She is good now in the crate for car travel...yowls for half an hour to start with to be let out...but unlike the dogs is a pest to wander around while i drive so only when the car is not in motion is she allowed loose in the car. She loves to jump into the car when the dogs are in it...wanders around...sites in the window basking in the warmth of the sun.

A 1950’s Fairy Tale: Grandpa and the Lion
As we climbed into bed each evening and pulled the covers up to our chins, a daily ritual began for my brother and I when we were kids: the bedtime story, usually told by our dad. One of those stories, a 1950’s fairy tale, was different. It was a true story about a rescued African lioness who lived as a tame tabby cat with a Washington State couple, and my grandpa Folkenberg’s visits with the young lion.
Unfortunately, this bedtime story does not have a pretty beginning. Little Tyke was born at the Point Defiance Zoo in the late 1940’s in Tacoma, Washington to a lioness who had killed her previous five cubs. The small cub nearly suffered the same fate; as her mother flung her against the bars of the cage severely injuring her. A couple, George and Margaret Westbeau, who ran a rescue ranch, The Hidden Valley Ranch, in a neighboring town, took the small cub home. A constant round of bottle feedings and bandage changes (which caused excruciating pain to the cub), brought her back to health and she grew up to be a 350 pound lioness who lived in the house like a domestic tabby cat.
Little Tyke cuddles a kitten between her paws.
She lounged on the kitchen floor, loved watching TV from her seat on the sofa, and napped with her head resting on the lap of Margaret Westbeau. When the Westbeaus took road trips with her, she would often stick her shoulder and paws out of the car window, her fur blowing in the wind. Pit stops were made and she would take care of business by the side of the road, just like a well-trained house pet, never running away. If the Westbeaus stayed in a motel they always got one room with two beds: one for them and one for Little Tyke.
Part of the Zoo’s motivation in allowing the Westbeaus to rescue the injured cub, was that George owned a freezer plant, where he stored large amounts of meat. And there could be no better home for a carnivore who eventually reached 350 pounds, than a family who owned a meat freezer plant. Lions eat up to 16 pounds of meat a day.
But there was one glitch, Little Tyke refused to eat meat, no matter how hard the Westbeaus tried. They would decrease the amounts of meat in her food to miniscule portions, but she still refused. They were so desperate that they even tried going from just 10 drops of beef blood to one drop of blood in a meal, but Little Tyke turned up her nose. There’s even a photo of George holding a cut of meat up to her while she turns her head away. They finally gave up and served her a special vegetarian diet that would take care of her nutritional needs.
It’s unclear how my grandparents, who lived in California, knew the Westbeaus. They had numerous relatives in the Portland, Oregon area, so perhaps there was a connection there. Several visits were made to the ranch; to my grandfather’s delight, but to my grandmother’s apprehension. My grandfather would rush out of the car to greet Little Tyke, who placed her fore paws on his shoulders, embracing him. They would roll around the kitchen floor playing together while my grandmother would remain in the car, or stand off to the side, stiff-lipped and frowning. The magnitude of the visits was so great that my grandfather could talk of nothing else for days when he returned home.
Little Tyke defied expectations in another respect–her species’s reputation for being fierce hunters. Her favorite companion, for example was Becky, the lamb, who often rested between her paws.

Other photos show Little Tyke with a kitten between her fore paws, a small toddler climbing on her, and day old chicks frolicking around her. She would even allow “Imp,” a black kitten to share her food. She wandered among the peacocks, who also lived on the ranch.
She was so tame, that she rode unshackled on local parade floats. Little Tyke also was featured in an ad campaign for a local auto dealership, sitting in the driver’s seat surrounded by three men. (Note the apprehensive look on the faces of the men in the back seat.)
There are also home movies, which show Little Tyke walking with Margaret in the snow and cuddling with her, cheek to jowl. In another scene, George climbs out of the river in his swimsuit and wrestles with his favorite feline friend.
Of course, Hollywood soon beckoned and that rarely ends well. Cecil B. DeMille, an early Hollywood producer and director, had Little Tyke audition in 1952 for a part in “The Greatest Show on Earth.” And in 1955, Little Tyke appeared in Art Baker’s popular TV show, “You Asked for It.” After her final TV appearance that same year, Little Tyke became ill with viral pneumonia, and died in July in the arms of George at Hidden Valley Ranch, her home. The stress of filming and the sudden change in climate from Washington to California had been too much for her. She was nearly 10 years old at the time of her death.
Little Tyke helps sell cars at a local auto dealership, Herb Satterlee Motors. George Westbeau sits in the front.
My brother and I loved the story of grandpa and Little Tyke, told numerous times by our dad at bedtime. It wasn’t your typical fairy tale, but it had many of its elements: enchantment, magic, wonder, and a most fantastic creature; a lion, who was so tame that you could pet and frolic with her. But fairy tales also resonant with adults…at least this adult. The story of Little Tyke delighted and shocked me and gave me a glimpse of something greater. That the improbable could happen. That miracles might be possible.
(A book titled, “Little Tyke,” was written by George Westbeau–with added chapters by Margaret in later editions. It’s available on Amazon in soft cover and on Kindle and published by Quest Books.)

CONCLUSIONS: PETFOOD If Flesh/Animal content based is very unhealthy and unnatural. Healthy Vegan Nutrition is healthier and now available.
VEGAN PETFOOD is healthier and more natural and certainly less cruel.

Webpage created start date 12th Feb 2017. It doesn't matter what we think most people currently think or do...if we think we can do something good even if we think it small and insignificant...it makes a difference. As the fairy queen said to Frodo in the Lord of the Rings...even the smallest person in the world can make a difference. ONE makes a difference. of about 11 thousand killed land animals and 10 thousand marine animals totalling 22 THOUSAND ANIMALS BRED AND KILLED for 1 human flesh eater lifetime, just for FOOD ! Totally unnecessarily. Just to put a FIGURE to what 1 PERSON can achieve ! SUCCESS !
